Personal Advising Plans for the College Recruiting Process

The JHC Personal Advising Plans are for student-athletes and families seeking assistance as they navigate the college recruiting process. Athletes are paired with an experienced advisor who provides support, personalized guidance, and strategic advisement individualized to the athlete and their goals.

    Each athlete is paired with a dedicated JHC advisor who works closely with them to develop a personalized recruiting strategy, navigate key recruiting milestones, and confidently pursue both academic and athletic opportunities at the collegiate level.

    Advising support includes:

    • NCAA rules and recruiting guidelines

    • College and program identification

    • Communication with college coaches

    • Recruiting conversations and interview preparation

    • Admissions and recruiting strategy

    • Social media and recruiting visibility

    • Recruiting timelines, organization, and goal planning

    • And, so much more!

    To best support the needs of each athlete and family, JHC offers three advising plan options based on the level of guidance and advisor accessibility desired:

Athletic Performance Training Plans

Personalized performance training designed to help athletes build strength, improve conditioning, optimize recovery, and perform at their highest level year-round.

  • The Athletic Performance Training Program is designed for athletes seeking individualized coaching, structured performance development, and expert guidance throughout every stage of training and competition.

    Led by Advisor Mike, athletes receive personalized support in areas including:

    • Strength and conditioning

    • Athletic performance development

    • Customized fitness programming

    • Nutrition and recovery guidance

    • Injury prevention and long-term performance strategy

    Each training plan is tailored to the athlete’s goals, training demands, competitive schedule, and overall performance needs.

    To best support athletes at varying levels of commitment and training intensity, JHC offers three training plan options:

June 15th Game Plan

The June 15th Game Plan is built to help athletes approach recruiting conversations with confidence, clarity, and preparation — allowing them to make a strong first impression with college coaches and programs.

  • June 15th marks a major milestone in the college recruiting process for gymnasts. Beginning June 15th following an athlete’s sophomore year of high school, NCAA college coaches are permitted to initiate direct communication with student-athletes and their families.

    The June 15th Game Plan is designed to help athletes feel confident, prepared, and professional as they approach these important first recruiting conversations.

    Through individualized advising sessions, athletes work one-on-one with an experienced JHC advisor to strengthen communication skills, prepare for coach interactions, and develop a clear recruiting strategy leading into June 15th.

    The program includes:

    • 4 personalized advising sessions

    • 60 minutes per session

    • Individualized recruiting and communication coaching

    Athletes receive guidance in areas including:

    • Phone call and conversation preparation

    • Responding to common recruiting questions

    • Communication and articulation skills

    • Discussing injuries, setbacks, or difficult seasons professionally

    • Mock interviews and role-playing exercises

    • Strategic outreach and communication planning prior to June 15th

College Recruiting Presentations

Our College Recruiting Presentations provide athletes, families, coaches, and organizations with expert insight and practical strategies for navigating the recruiting process with confidence.

  • JHC College Recruiting Presentations are designed to educate athletes, families, coaches, and organizations on the realities of the collegiate recruiting process and the strategies that support long-term recruiting success.

    Each presentation provides practical, experience-based insight on topics including:

    • The college recruiting process and recruiting timeline

    • NCAA rules and recruiting guidelines

    • Collegiate athletic opportunities and pathways

    • Building an effective recruiting strategy

Bright Futures Personal Advising

Bright Futures introduces younger athletes in 6th - 8th grades and their families to the college recruiting process early, helping them build a strong foundation for future academic and athletic opportunities.

  • Bright Futures is designed to help younger student-athletes and their families better understand the opportunities available within collegiate athletics and how early preparation can positively influence the recruiting journey.

    Through personalized guidance from a JHC advisor, families receive valuable insight into the recruiting process, collegiate athletic pathways, and the steps athletes can begin taking early to support future recruiting success.

    The program includes:

    • One 60-minute personal advising session

    • Guidance tailored to the athlete and family’s current stage of development

    • Two recruiting resource PDFs provided following the session

    During the session, athletes and families gain a clearer understanding of:

    • Collegiate athletic opportunities and pathways

    • The recruiting timeline and overall process

    • Early recruiting preparation and strategy

    • Ways to strengthen future recruiting potential and exposure

    Bright Futures is designed to provide families with clarity, direction, and a stronger foundation as they begin navigating the college recruiting process.

Bright Academics Personal Advising

Bright Academics helps 6th-12th grade students and families strategically prepare for college admissions through personalized academic planning and long-term educational guidance.

  • Bright Academics is designed to help students and families better understand the academic preparation, planning, and decision-making that support future college admissions success.

    Through individualized guidance from a JHC advisor, families receive insight into important academic considerations throughout middle school and high school, allowing students to approach their educational path with greater clarity and long-term strategy.

    This advising session helps students:

    • Understand academic expectations for college admissions

    • Strategically plan coursework throughout high school

    • Prepare for classes aligned with prospective colleges and academic goals

    • Develop long-term academic planning strategies

    • Gain awareness of important academic milestones and considerations

    Bright Academics is available for students in grades 6–12 and is designed to provide families with proactive planning support throughout the academic preparation process.

    The program includes:

    • One 60-minute personal advising session

    • Personalized academic planning guidance tailored to the student and family

    Students, parents, or both may participate in the advising session.
