Hi there!
I started gymnastics at age 5. I have been involved with the sport ever since as a gymnast, a coach, a parent of a gymnast and a judge. I trained in the JO program in NC and then attended UNC-Chapel Hill where I competed on the club team. When my kids were old enough to sign up for gymnastics I took both into a gym and got them started!! My son, Ryan, was a competitive gymnast until high school when he switched to wrestling. He is now a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. CO.
My daughter is now 17, she following the hopes/elite track as a gymnast at Hill’s Gymnastics.
She competed elite for 4 years and went back to level 10 this past year after she verbally committed to Penn State.
She made US Championships every year of her elite career. I worked closely with her as she went through the recruiting process.
My husband is a patent attorney at NASA and considers himself a “gymnastics widow” at times! I am a level 10 rated judge and I am busy on weekends during season judging meets or taking my daughter to meets. I have also been a special education teacher in Montgomery County, MD for over 15 years.
